2. James Godwin. Buried on 23 10 1854 in Longdon, Staffordshire. Occupation: Tanner (1814), Retired Farmer (1851).

 

James married Hester (Esther). Born in 1787/1788 in Rugeley, Staffordshire.

 

They had the following children:

          3            i. William Nethersole (-1885)

                       ii. James. Born in 1812/1813 in Rugeley, Staffordshire. Buried on 4 9 1854 in Longdon, Staffordshire. Occupation: Cordwainer (1851).

 

                      iii. Thomas. Born on 27 2 1816.

 

                      iv. Walter. Buried on 18 3 1842 in Longdon, Staffordshire.

 

                       v. Charles. Buried on 10 6 1844 in Longdon, Staffordshire.

 

 

Third Generation

3. William Nethersole Godwin. William Nethersole died on 10 5 1885 in 10 Castle Street, Chester, Cheshire. Buried on 14 5 1885 in Overleigh Cemetery, Chester, Cheshire. Occupation: Clicker (1846), Cordwainer (1871), Cutter Boot and Shoe Trade (1881), Cordwainer (1884-1885).

 

On 20 10 1836 William Nethersole married Martha Meeson, daughter of John Meeson & Mary Brookes, in St Bartholomew, Wednesbury. Martha died in 1891.

 

They had the following children:

          4            i. William James (1837-1919)

                       ii. Hester (Esther). Born in 9 1838 in Stafford, Staffordshire.

 

Hester (Esther) married UNNAMED.

 

          5          iii. Emily (1840-1929)

          6          iv. Walter (1842-1925) buried Weaste Cemetery, Salford Plot G 713on June 27th 1925 age 83

          7           v. John Meeson (1844-1917)

          8          vi. Sarah (1846-1917)

                     vii. Charles. Born on 22 4 1846 in Union Buildings Stafford. Buried on 24 11 1861 in Longdon, Staffordshire.

 

          9         viii. Andrew Nixon (1848-1934)

                      ix. Thomas. Born on 24 7 1851 in Union Buildings, Stafford. Thomas died in Chester, Cheshire on 30 3 1879, he was 27. Buried on 3 4 1879 in Overleigh Cemetery, Chester, Cheshire. Occupation: Clerk to Barrister (1871).
